Promotion Period:
There are two separate promotions, one for new-comers to Canada, the other for Canadians or PR longer than 5 years.
There is no end date for new-comers promotion, but the promotion for Canadians/PR has an end date of 2022-12-31 if it is available at your local branches.

Benefit of banking with HSBC:
- There is minimum Total Relationship Balance (TRB) that needs to be maintained for each type of account, however unlike other banks that ONLY allow certain minimum balance to stay in chequing account, this TRB can be in saving account, investment account or mortgage account
- There are usually other promotion to take advantage of after opening an account with them. For example, in the past if you transfer your RRSP/TFSA to HSBC there was a generous offer here. Basically there was huge cash bonus depending on the amount transferred in.
