【Update: 2022-04-25】KOHO suspended my account because I only use their bill payment services. Obviously they cannot make any money from me, hence closed my account.
KOHO is a pre-paid credit card provided by a Fintech company from Toronto.
Benefits of using regular version of this card:
- Pay no monthly for using this card
- Get 0.5% cash back for making purchases
- Get special cash back rate from certain merchants (Altitude Sports, Mary Brown’s, Pizza 73 etc)
- Pay only 1.5% foreign exchange fees
- Transfer money with other KOHO users for free
Benefits of using premium version of this card: (there is $9 monthly fee for premium card)
- Get 2% cash back with premium version of this card in categories of eat & drinks, groceries, transportation and gas
- Get special cash back rate from certain merchants (Altitude Sports, Mary Brown’s, Pizza 73 etc)
- Pay no foreign exchange fees
- Transfer money with other KOHO users for free
Above all these benefits, I personally think the best thing about KOHO card is that it can be used to pay American Express Credit Cards.
Maybe it is now the ONLY Canadian pre-paid credit card with this feature.
There are three ways to load KOHO card: Direct Deposit, e-Transfer and Visa Debit. Visa Debit option will only show up after first use of the physical card (see first pic below).
